Zachariah Colton Alcorn passed away on December 2, 2014 in Wray, Colorado at the age of 15. Zachariah was called by his middle name, Colton, more often than his first name. He was borntoMarvin Alcorn Jr. and Sylvia Alcorn (Slawinski) in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on April 14,1999. Zachariah was born with a twin brother, Noah Alcorn, and has an older sister, Paulyna Alcorn, andanolder brother, Stephan Alcorn.
At the time of his birth, the family lived in Walden, CO. In the year of 2001, the family moved to Ogallala, Nebraska. During the 7 years of living in Ogallala, Colton played t-ball andattended Preschool through Second Grade in the Ogallala School District. In July 2008, Colton's family moved to Wray,Colorado. His mother had found a job opening of radiology technician at the local hospital.
Colton began Third Grade with his twin brother in Wray Elementary School. During his time in elementary school, he played flag football and pee-wee wrestling.
Zachariah Colton lost his father, Marvin Alcorn Jr., on October 19, 2010 at the beginning of his Fifth Grade year. During Colton's Seventh and Eighth Grade school years attending Buchanan Middle School in Wray, he enjoyed playing football, wrestling, and track. He seemed to enjoy wrestling more thoroughly than the other sports; wrestling was his passion. Colton was recently attending Wray High School as a freshman with his twin brother while his sister was a senior.He was a member of Wray FFA and the family has just recently received his membership corduroy jacket with his name embroidered on it.
Throughout the summers, Colton treasured the time he spent with his grandparents. He worked with Grandpa Alcorn in Walden, Colorado and was learning to sew while making his own quilt with Grandma Alcorn in Ogallala, Nebraska. Colton left behind numerous friends who cherished his goofy personality and enlightening smile.
Colton preceded in death with his father, Marvin Alcorn Jr., and Grandfather James Leo Slawinski. His survivors include his mother, Sylvia Alcorn-Martin, his brothers, Noah and Stephan Alcorn, and sister, Paulyna Alcorn. Grandparent survivors are Marvin Alcorn Sr. from Walden,Colorado, Diana Alcorn from Ogallala, Nebraska, and Deloris Hart from Craig, Colorado. Colton was born into a large extended family of numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral services were held at Kitzmiller Auditorium in Wray, Colorado on Sunday, December 7, 2014 with Rev. Steve Wynkoop officiating. Memorials may be made to the Wray Wrestling Club. Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Horne was in charge of arrangements.
