William “Bill” Augustus Boas Jr. born May 4, 1942 to William and Dorthea Boas in New York. He left this world on January 19, 2019, in Wray, Colorado. He was the oldest of 5 children. He is survived by brothers Peter and John Boas, his two sisters Barbara Berkley, and Kathleen Bockus. He graduated from Peekskill Military Academy and went on to serve in the Navy, from 1962-1968. While in the Navy he received the George Washington Honor Medal for an essay he composed. He was an editorial correspondent for the Wall Street Journal. He also wrote articles for Business Week Magazine, the United Press International, most recently for the Yuma County Pioneer, and many others. Bill was also a published photographer, an author and a wordsmith. Bill is now a silent key KC0IZI. He enjoyed being a ham radio operator.
