Wilbur Willis Brown

Wilbur Willis Brown, 86 passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Hillcrest Care Center in Wray, Colorado.

Wilbur was born October 16, 1928 in Vernon, Colorado to Orba Herman and Ruth (Fischer) Brown. He attended school at Beecher Island. Wilbur served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked at Bugs Farm Supply as a farm implement mechanic.

On November 18, 1953, Wilbur married Mary Lou Post in Wray, Colorado and last month had celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. He enjoyed woodworking and doing puzzles.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.  Wilbur is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, daughters, Cheryl Moore of Sterling, Colorado; Shirley Rudrik of Anton, Colorado; son, Mark Brown of Yuma, Colorado; sister, Pauline Guinn of Wray, Colorado; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at the Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado with Rev. Harold Jackson officiating. Interment was in the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
