Virginia Lee Warner, 89, formerly of Scottsdale, AZ., died at Arbor Lakes Senior Living, Maple Grove, MN. on December 10, 2013.
She was born in Wray, Colorado on February 27, 1924 to William and Junia Pyle. She graduated from Wray High School in 1942, attended Linwood College and Denver University. In 1943 she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Gene P. Warner (of Almena Kansas) in San Diego, CA. She and Gene farmed and ranched along with her parents. She was also very involved in the local community. In 1960 they moved to Denver where, in time, she became a real estate agent. It was a busy time raising a family, having a career and being a fabulous cook and hostess. Scottsdale, Arizona was a place they enjoyed vacationing so in 1972 they made it their home. Virginia jumped right in and started a very successful real estate career receiving many honors. She loved Arizona and those beautiful sunsets. She also, in her later fifties, studied the Bible and dedicated her life to Jehovah God. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1980 and continued to be a member until her death.
Virginia leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Linda ( J William III) Frank of Racine, WI, John Warner ( Carolyn ) of Denver, CO, and Shelley ( Paul ) Hardy of Crystal, MN. Grandchildren Debbie ( Darrell ) Merrick of Surprise, AZ, David ( Kelly ) Frank of Brookfield, WI, Graham ( Laura) Hardy of Charlotte, NC and William (Aleta) Hardy of Wallkill NY. Great grandchildren Sophia, Mackenzie, and Tyler Frank; Jackson and Blake Hardy. She is further survived by her nephews, William Clarke, Kent and Scott Schobe and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret Jane Clarke and Josephine Sarah Schobe and Gene P. Warner.
Visitation and Discourse will be on January 11, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Spellman Schmidt Funeral Home, 427 Adams Street, Wray, CO 80758, with a private burial following at Grandview Cemetery, Wray, Co. Condolences to the family should be sent to the funeral home.
