Victoria Lynn (Stevens)Walz was born to Galen Victor and Mary Louise (Johnson) Stevens on June 12.1965 in Wray.
She attended school in Wray and graduated from Wray High School. She attended college in Colorado Springs after graduation.
She called me one winter morning and asked me to pick her up. I told her I thought I told you to stay at school . She said she was already in Burlington. I went to pick her up and on the way home I hydroplaned and we rolled the van we were in. The patrol officer told me he thought we not only went sideways but also end over end. The good Lord was watching over us and neither of us was hurt very bad just some bumps and bruises. Vicky went from the front seat over the high back seat and ended up at the back side of the sliding door. I ended up in front of the passenger seat facing the seat. We both started wearing seatbelts. She finished that term at school and ended up back in Wray.
She met her future husband David LeRoy Walz and after being together for a year they were married on January 21,1989.
They purchased a mobile home and lived in Canyon Court. On September 6,1989 they were blessed with their handsome son Samual David .
On November 16,1990 their beautiful daughter Dianne Elizabeth Dora was born.
Vicky then started working for her grandparents Thayne and Esther Johnson at the store Tri State Distributors. Dave was killed in a vehicle accident February 4,1995. Vicky decided she needed to do something different and took up travel. She moved her small family to Pueblo and went to school to study to be a travel agent. After getting her education she moved her family back to Wray.
She went back to work for her grandparents and did her agency at Tri State Distributors. When her grandparents died she continued working for her mother and uncle Jonnie. When she found out they were going to have to close the store she went to work a Hillcrest and earned her CNA license. She worked at Hillcrest for awhile and then changed jobs to work for Joe Foltmer at the pharmacy where she was still working at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Thayne and Esther Johnson, husband Dave and his parents, grandparents Gaylord and Louise Stevens, Uncle Gene Stevens, Sister in-law Tracy Gallegos, her brother Mike Stevens and nephew Michael Pletcher.
She leaves to mourn her passing her parents Galen and Mary, sister Becky, children Sam (Katie) Walz and daughter Dianne Walz.
Grandchildren Gabbriella Walz-Carranza, Dreanna and Davian Henry and newest arrival William Walz. Nephew Scott Stevens and son, Cayden. Brothers in-law Pat and Ron (Jana) Gallegos numerous nephews and nieces, uncles and aunts.
