Tyler William Meyer, age 28, passed away on July 5, 2023, in New Orleans, LA.
Tyler was born to Theresa and Randy Meyer on March 22, 1995, in Castle Rock, CO. His parents later divorced.
In 2000, he was the ring-bearer at the wedding of his mother Theresa and Erik Barney at Erik’s family ranch in the hill country of Texas. He attended Academy Charter School in Castle Rock until he moved to Loveland, CO where he attended Loveland High School.
After leaving school, Tyler was a jack-of-all-trades, moving often and working a variety of jobs. He lived for a time in Wyoming, California, Oklahoma and Louisiana, returning to Colorado at times in between. He worked in construction, in restaurants, on ranches, and as a traveling carnie. He was known by friends and family for his love of preparing delicious food and his love of animals.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Theresa Barney and Randy Meyer; his half-brother, Tristan Barney; and grandparents Carol Meyer and Bob and Janelle Helling. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Meyer. Tyler was the great-grandson of the late Harold and Lucille Helling of Idalia, CO.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be at 1 pm on Sept. 17 at the Vets Club, 119 E. 3rd Street in Wray. Cremation. At a future time, his ashes will be scattered in the Colorado mountains which he always loved.
