Susan P. Kier passed away at the age of 76, on March 25, 2017, after losing her battle with deteriorating health.
She was born on January 8, 1941 in Michigan City, Indiana to Wallace and Genevieve Paxton. She grew up as an only child and married James Kier moving to Colorado where he was originally from. She spent the majority of her life volunteering through her church, serving food downtown through the rescue missions and other churches. She had also volunteered at a local hospice center for a number of years before her health started to deteriorate. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trip to several of the East coast states to see the fall color change. Sue always loved making her Christmas cookies every year and sharing them with the people who needed them most. She was always ready to listen and had a quiet, caring personality. Through her work as a Stevens Minister and Deacon for Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church she became closer to God.
Sue left behind her daughter Jackie Warner (42) and her granddaughter Jacey Warner (16) along with several other loved extended family members but she left this world a loving person and was in peace with all she had done in life.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 11500 W. 20th Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado. Interment will be in the Glendale Cemetery in Vernon, Colorado.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
