Steve A. Deland

Born on January 22, 1958 Steve DeLand was born to Thelma (Gleason) Cox and Glenn DeLand in Wray Colorado.

Steve worked for the City of Wray for many years.  His favorite job was driving for the County Express.  Steve was the head diesel mechanic for Seaboard Foods in Holyoke.

Steve was a strong stern man, with a soft spot for his family and friends.  He spent years of his life roping, something he loved dearly.  He spent the last years of his life riding his bikes with his brothers.  One of his favorite things was going to Sturgis.

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents Wilber and Sonora Gleason.  Alvin and Beulah Cox, Alice Stanley and Delbert DeLand. His father Glenn DeLand, and his dad Arvie Cox.  His in-laws Rich Soehner and Marian Soehner. .

He is survived by wife of 38 years Paula DeLand.  Sons Aaron DeLand and partner Callie Dinkel, and granddaughter Courtlynn DeLand. Rope DeLand and wife Lauryn DeLand.  Steven DeLand Jr. (Skeeter) and wife Destiny DeLand and grandsons Jace Popp, and Kade DeLand. Grandson Greyson Anderson.

His mother Thelma Cox, Aunt Ilene Oneal her husband Richard Oneal and his two brothers Don DeLand and Larry DeLand.  His brother in laws Stan Soehner, Brad Soehner and Gene Soehner.  Along with his many nieces, nephews and friends.  He will be dearly missed.

Services will be held at the New Life Church in Eckley on November 22,2024 at 10:00 am. Donations can be made to the Steve DeLand memorial Fund at Wray State Bank.
