Stanley M Evans

October 3, 1935 — July 30, 2024

Wray

Stanley Evans passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, at the age of 88 at Hillcrest Care Center surrounded by his family. Stan was born on October 3, 1935, to Murray W. Evans and Laveria A. Stute in Haigler, Nebraska, and was the oldest of three children.

He grew up working on the family ranch, working cattle and raising crops. He attended school in Haigler, graduating from high school with a class of three, and then went on to McCook Community College. He joined the national guard in 1958, becoming a forward observer for the 115 Howitzers.

Not long after returning to Haigler from bootcamp, Stan met Ruth Delcamp and married three months later, and shortly after, started their family. He worked on the family ranch until he was 29, and then Stan and Ruth learned about a company called Amway. From modest beginnings and with a lot of hard work, they achieved the highest levels of the business. Many of their friends and family members joined them and together the "Evans Group" made a major impact on the world of Amway. Stan served for more than three decades on the Amway Distributors Association Board of Directors and led the creation and development of the Ag product, APSA-80. Through the business, Stan and Ruth were able to leave their small town and see the world, going to places like Yugoslavia, Switzerland, Italy, France, England, the Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, and China. He often shared that these were experiences that he had never dreamt he could have and that he never took for granted.

Throughout this time his family grew, along with many wonderful memories – from Sunday night football games, to lake days at Bonny Dam, trips to the mountains, elk hunting adventures and many rounds of Texas Hold Em with his grandkids.

His family shared that Stan truly loved his life and always lived it to its fullest.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Laveria Evans, his wife, Ruth Evans, and his nephew, Clayton Palmrose. He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Sue (and Percy) Harris and Connie (and Bruce) Palmrose, his children, Brent (and Dawn) Evans, Gary (and Karen) Evans, Pam (and Brent) Deterding, and Jay (and Codie) Evans, his grandchildren, Kimberly (and Joe) Belongia, Cori Deterding, Dawn (and Nick) Webster, Ryan (and Karen) Deterding, Callie (and Beau) Brown, Sandra (and Austin) Renfro, Nicole (and Burak) Cifci, Logan Evans, Jesse (and Grace) Evans, Austin and Quinn Evans, and many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and friends.
