Shirley Elaine (Ellis) Reiman

Shirley Elaine (Ellis) Reiman was born on November 22, 1938, in Benkelman, Nebraska, to the late John and Alice (Sparks) Ellis. She was the third of six children who grew up in their beloved family home. On March 15, 2023, at the age of 84, Shirley went to be with our Lord peacefully, with several family members by her side.

On December 27, 1956, she married the love of her life, Charles Reiman. From this union, eight children were born. Shirley was very active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and attended many of their events. She also sewed clothes and costumes for these events, including wedding dresses and leisure suits for many. Shirley loved quilting and gifted quilts to each of her children. She also held an annual drawing for her grandchildren to receive one of her quilts; they were always so excited. For 45 years, Shirley handmade Christmas ornaments for each of her 26 grandchildren to decorate their family Christmas trees. She was a very loving spouse, other, grandmother, great grandmother, and full-time homemaker.

Shirley was active in her church, Altar and Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and Red Hat Society. She also worked for over 50 years at the election center and enjoyed helping at the local fabric store for many years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice (Sparks) Ellis; sister, Dorothy Jean; brothers, Keith, Jim, and Dick; and great grandson, Trace Alexander.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles Reiman; their children, Sherrie, Greg, Kent, Terri, Mike, Pat, Merrie, and Carrie, and their spouses; 26 grandchildren and their spouses; 37 great grandchildren; brother, Lyle Ellis; and many other family members, all of whom she loved deeply.

Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her love of God and family, and she will be deeply missed.

A Rosary will be held at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Wray, Colorado, on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 3:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Andrew Catholic Church Friday, March 24, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery following services.
