Shelia Joyce (Renzelman) Weigel

Shelia Joyce Renzelman was born January 27, 1947 in Wray to Raymond and Lucille (Gartin) Renzelman. She passed away November 23, 2015 in Greeley, Colorado at Northern Colorado Medical Center following a brief illness.

Shelia grew up southwest of Wray on the family farm with her one older sister, Sandra. She graduated from Wray High School in 1965 and attended beauty school in Greeley, Colorado. On April 26, 1975, she married Roy Weigel and to this union on child was born, Karen Jo.

Sheila owned Sheila's Hair Salon and enjoyed her many customers and developed many special friendships throughout the years. Her hobbies included gardening, canning and cooking and sewing. She grew a large garden every year at the family farm and shared her produce with friends and family. She enjoyed looking at recipes and trying new recipes, much to her family's delight. Shelia always made sure you never left hungry and she was an amazing cook. Shelia loved animals, especially cats, whether her own or stray. She would always see that they were fed and cared for. She would welcome anyone in need and was very kind and generous. She had a way of making each person she came in contact with feel special and she will be greatly missed.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Roy; daughter, Karen and husband, Mark Nelson of Wray, sister, Sandra McCauley of San Diego, California; niece, Dawn McCauley and nephew, Kurt McCauley also of San Diego, California, Aunt Berniece Rose of Richland Hills, Texas, Aunt Shirley Ficke and husband, Bob of Lincoln, Nebraska, and many cousins.

Shelia is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Gary McCauley.

Funeral services were held November 30, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Wray, Colorado with Pastor Steve Wynkoop officiating. Interment was held in the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado.
Memorials may be made to Twin Forks Veterinary Clinic in Wray, Colorado. Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
