Sally Warrick, born in Kansas City, MO, was lovingly adopted as an infant by George and Ruth Warrick and became a cherished sister to Sue. Sally grew up on the family farm near Nickerson in Reno County, Kansas, where her father raised sheep and wheat. She attended Salem Brethren Church and Union 5 Country School during her early years.
At age 11, Sally's family moved to Limon, Colorado. She learned to play the piano and became involved in the school band and show choir. A proud graduate of Limon High School, Sally furthered her education at McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. During the summer between her junior and senior years, she participated in a study at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
Sally earned her teaching certificate and began her teaching career in Genoa, Colorado. She continued her dedicated work with BOCES, helping struggling students succeed. Upon retirement, Sally remained active in her community, serving on the library board, directing the Methodist Church choir, and participating in the Tuesday Study Club.
Sally found joy in her yard work, word search puzzles, and feeding the birds. She loved touring the countryside and was always the first to hop in the car for a trip. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and her happiest place was the Trostle family cabin in Dream Canyon, above Boulder. Sally will join her mother and brother by the stream at the cabin.
