Ruth Ann (Wood) Peeples

Ruth Ann Peeples was born Aug 12, 1943 in Colorado Springs. Ruth was an only child to her parents Bill and Gertrude James. Ruth grew up in Delta where she met her husband, Robert Peeples. Ruth was married to Robert on December 24, 1961. In 2001, Robert and Ruth celebrated their 50 ^th wedding anniversary. More recently, they celebrated their 55 ^th wedding anniversary.

Shortly after being married, Robert and Ruth moved to Denver in 1962 where they lived for nearly two years. Robert and Ruth moved back to Delta for a short time before settling in Wray in 1967 where they have lived since.

Robert and Ruth had four children, Shelly, Jennifer, Danny and David. Their second child, Jennifer, passed away shortly after birth. Ruth had several grandchildren that she loved spending time with to include, Ashleigh, Jessica, Mikayla, Autumn, Nathan and Christopher. She was also a Great-Grandmother to Ella and Adeline, born to Ashleigh and her husband Lee Fenzel.

Ruth’s priority had always been her family and children. However, besides being a full time Mother, Ruth was also involved in several activities outside the home to include Christian Women’s Fellowship and providing low cost, well-child checkups for the community.

In 1985 Robert purchased the Wray Insurance Agency, where Ruth worked as his Secretary and as a licensed insurance agent for nearly 30 years. More recently, Ruth also worked with her daughter Shelly in herbal supplement business.

Robert and Ruth began attending the First Christian Church right after moving to Wray where they met several of their life-long friends. Mom was known for being a caring person and took on the role of caring for those around her. For many years, she cared for her sister-in-law, Jean Peeples, as well as many in the neighborhood. Ruth also had a love of animals, and for those who knew her well, cats were her favorite.

Ruth is preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude James; Sister-in-law, Jean Peeples and her daughter, Jennifer Robin. She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter Shelly and husband Mike of Littleton; son Danny and wife Jennifer of Westminster; son David and wife Lisa of Littleton; father Bill James of Delta; step-sister, Michelle and husband Jim Ford of Delta; grandchildren Ashleigh and husband Lee Fenzel of Aurora; Jessica Greenwell of Portland, OR; Mikayla Greenwell of Portland, OR; Autumn Peeples of Westminster, CO; Nathan Peeples of Littleton and Christopher Peeples of Littleton; great grandchildren, Ella and Adeline Fenzel of Aurora, CO;

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 19 ^th at the First Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. in Wray, with Steve Wynkoop officiating. Interment was held at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado following services. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church in Wray, Colorado. Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
