It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our eldest son Rostislav (Rostik) William Jones, who was 21 years of age. He passed away in an automobile accident in eastern Colorado on Nov. 12th, 2025 at approximately 10:30 in the morning. Rostik was born in Makiivka, Ukraine and joined our family on January 1st, 2011 at the age of six years old.
Rostik was a passionate, fun-loving, creative son who was humorous and loved animals. As a child, he enjoyed playing with his brothers and friends, building with legos, drawing, and books. He spent most of his time outside and barefoot and enjoyed swimming, climbing trees, and biking. One time, after a bout with appendicitis, his mother found him in a tree five days post surgery after being told no running, jumping or biking.
As a teen, Rostik loved playing football, hanging out with friends, air-softing, archery, board games, and video games. One life-long favorite activity was wrestling with his brothers. Rostik also had a fondness for cooking. He loved to barbecue and make delicious burgers, wings, lasagna, and spaghetti with a tasty red Italian sauce passed down from his uncle. He really took pleasure in seeing others enjoy his cooking.
Rostik graduated from Monarch High School, attended Northeastern Junior College, and was currently living and working near Wray, CO. Recently, Rostik had become engaged and was at a very happy point in his life. Rostik is survived by his parents, David and Moira Jones; his brothers, Vadik and Austin; and his fiance, Schuyler Prentice.
A memorial service will be held on January 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 506 Via Appia, Louisville, CO. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Boulder Humane Society in Rostik’s name.
