Ronald Dean Bliven

August 26, 1952 — June 6, 2022

Ronald Dean Bliven was born August 26, 1952, to Jess W. and Geraldine E. (Trent) Bliven in Wray, Colorado. He was the seventh of nine children. Ronn passed away on June 6, 2022, at the age of 69.

Ronn attended school in Wray, Colorado, where he was active on the football and wrestling teams. Upon graduating high school, he moved to Greeley, Colorado for a short while. He eventually found his way back to Wray, where he married Terri Lea Reiman in 1979. To this union, three daughters were born, Jessica Leigh in 1980, Jennifer Lynne in 1982, and Jaynae Lynette in 1984. Throughout the years, Ronn worked as a truck driver for many individuals and operations and operated his own trucking business. In addition to driving a truck, Ronn spent many years operating a road grater for Yuma County Road & Bridge. He thoroughly enjoyed trucking and grating roads and was able to meet many great people along the way forming life-long friendships. Ronn always tried to make everyone laugh and was always up for a good joke.

Ronn is survived by his three daughters; Jessica Bauer and husband Doug and their children, Maleigha and Caeden; Jennifer Bliven and Luke Queen and their children, Ashten, Aubrie, Kayson, Paxton, and Haisley; Jaynae Bliven-Alexander and husband Trent and their children, Karlye, Kendal, and Kinna; brothers, Bill Bliven, Joe Bliven, Tom Bliven and wife Ruby; sister, Carol Simmons and husband Jim; sister-in-law, Diane Bliven; and many nieces and nephews.

Ronn is preceded in death by his parents Jess and Geraldine Bliven; sister, Patty Newton; brothers, Donald “Mort” Bliven, Jack Bliven, Mark Bliven; grandson, Trace Alexander; and nephew, Rhett Bliven.

A Graveside Service and Inurnment will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Glendale Cemetery in Vernon, Colorado. A receiving of family and friends reception will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, immediately following the service until 2:00 p.m. in the east room of the Vets Club, 119 East Third Street, Wray, Colorado.

Memorials may be made to the Ronald D. Bliven fund, c/o Equitable Savings & Loan, 300 Main Street, Wray, CO  80758.

Cremation was requested.

Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
