Robert "Bob" D. Witte was born on May 9, 1959 in Longmont, Colorado to Harley A. & Peggy Garton Witte.
At a very young age his family moved to Craig, CO and later to Colorado Springs, CO after a year they moved to Ft. Collins, CO., where he attended school, from grade school through to High School. All through junior and senior high he wrestled, becoming a City Champ both in Junior & Senior High. During the summers and after high school he worked in construction becoming the Leadman for a framing company. After graduation Bob and a friend stared a framing company. He moved to Denver but found that he didn't like the Big City,so he moved to McCoy, CO. While there he worked as a guide and outfitter. His time in the mountains had him living in Avon, Steamboat Springs, Oak Creek, Rifle, New Castle, and Vail. In 1996 he moved to Wray, CO where he worked in construction.
Bob had a great love and talent for building cabinetry and fine furniture. The finished products were always stunning. He also carried his creativity into his photography combining the artist's eye with knowledge of technology. He carried his camera everywhere, sharing his photos on his other creation The Wray Post. What an interesting life he had.
Bob is survived by his parents, Harley & Peggy Witte, his sister, Jeanie & James Hoppal, his nieces Amber & Donn Yoshida, and Myria & Matt Dickey, his step-niece Tabitha & Dion Plsek, his step-nephew Pete Hoppal. Bob also has two great nieces and one great nephew, and one great-great nephew. He is survived by many Aunts and Uncles along with a great number of cousins.
A Memorial service was held on Thursday, August 27, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Wray, Colorado with Pastor Tim Davis officiating. A Private Family Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Lutheran Church. Cremation was requested. Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
