KS.
Bob grew up on a farm Northwest of St. Francis and attended Fort Hays State University in
Hays, KS and Finley Engineering College in Kansas City, graduating with a Civil Engineering
degree.
He married Linda Sue Hill on July 11, 1964 and to this union two children were born, Robin Linn
and Jeffrey Todd.
Bob worked for The United Fruit Company in New Orleans, LA until 1968 when he moved the
family to Kansas City and started MetroAir A heat and air company.
In 1975 the opportunity to fullfill his lifetime dream to farm came true and the family moved to
a farm SouthWest of Haigler, NE. Daughter Robin and Son-In-Law Doug continue farming this
today.
Bob farmed and worked at the Cheyenne County Road and Bridge dept and then the Yuma
County Road and Bridge dept until 1992 when he and Linda decided to move back to Kansas
City and try his hand at being a contractor which he did until 2011 when he retired and they
moved back to Wray to help with the family farm.
Bob loved spending time in the tractor and was always available to help. His favorite was
running the combine for wheat and corn harvest.
