RICHARD DEAN “DICK” MULLER, 89 born August 24, 1930 to Clair Loneal and Virginia Osceola (Orndorff) Muller in Wray, Colorado and was the oldest of four children. He passed away April 26, 2020 from congestive heart failure at his home in Greeley, Colorado.
Dick grew up in Wray, graduating from Wray High School in 1948. He was a baptized believer of Jesus Christ at an early age at the Wray Christian Church, and has remained a faithful servant of the Lord since. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy, he met and fell in love with Bernice Margaret Downey, also of Wray. They were married July 23, 1955. They were blessed with four children; Chuck, Mark, Roma and Mike.
The couple lived in Wray after their marriage while Dick worked for Bob Shafer, as a painter. They moved to Greeley in 1961 for Dick to attend UNC. Later, he worked for Pepsi, and then accepted a job with Monfort Packing Company where he remained until retiring in 2002.
Dick spoke often of fond memories of living in Wray. He never knew a stranger, would strike up a conversation with anyone, anytime, anywhere and become a friend of nearly everyone he met. Those who knew him will remember his wonderful sense of humor, great jolly laugh and generosity. He loved his family and spending time with them, watching his kids play sports, helping the boys in Boy Scouts, camping and especially family picnics where he was almost always late arriving, but would stay until the last one was gone.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Clair and Virginia, his sister, Clarice Ann Brueggeman; and father and mother-in-law, Frank and Sophia Downey.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; sons, Chuck of Trinity, Tx; Mark of LaSalle, CO; and Mike (Pam) of Greeley, CO; daughter, Roma (Rick Weinkauf) of Altus, OK and Carrolton, TX; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Ressa) Cortez, CO and Duane (Millie) of Sterling, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
