Renna Mae (Arledge) Wells

July 12, 1957 — June 17, 2020

Renna Mae (Arledge) Wells, the daughter of Isaac and Louise Mae (Wind) Arledge born July 12, 1957 in Sterling Colorado and at six weeks old they moved to Cortez, Colorado. Then further to Kimball, Nebraska where she started school. Then moved to Riverton, Wyoming where she participated in band at school. In 1972, the family moved again to Arvada, Colorado where she attended and graduated from Pamona High School in 1974. She continued her education at Rockmont College with a major in Computer Science.

After graduating from college Renna held a job with a construction company before moving to Wray, Colorado. She met Randy Wells in late 1985 on a blind date. She had found the love of her life and married each other on May 1st, 1986. During that time, she was employed at Wray Supers, Palmrose Ford, Monfort Feedlot and the City of Wray Public Works Department Office in 1996 to 2006 for 20 years. While working for the City of Wray she helped move the Public works department from pen and pencil to the computerized era for budgeting and scheduling. Also, during that time, she helped with the family business Wells Sprinkler and Landscaping in the evenings until her retirement from the City in 2006 where she transitioned to full time for the family business. Renna always loved the challenges that came with the business working hand in hand with Randy. She would work on sprinkler systems getting parts and tools as needed while at the same time managing the inventory and the financial books at night.

Besides her dedication to work and family, Renna was always there to help someone in need. She helped City Employees prepare for the CDL written test after hours. She dropped everything she was doing to help a family member with a handicapped plaque for his vehicle, to help him to be able to keep going during a difficult portion of his life. Renna would watch family’s children when emergencies came upon short notice. She was always willing to lend an ear to anyone that just needed someone to talk too.

Renna’s passions in life were traveling and family events. She traveled with Randy on numerous vacations to many states and several Nascar races. Her favorite destinations were Nashville and Memphis for her love of music. Renna and Randy enjoyed their 20th anniversary in Hawaii and was the trip that they both cherished the most. She was always ready for the holidays and entertaining family with mouthwatering thanksgiving dinners, spectacular Christmas settings for holiday parties for the family.

She was able to stay at home with her family until her final day. Her love, smile, and helping hand will forever be missed by family and friends.

After a long-fought battle with Dementia for 12 years Renna passed away June 17, 2020 at the Wray Community District Hospital in Wray, Colorado.
