We are here to celebrate our loved one Rebecca Karlyn Dickson; most of you know her as Becky. Rebecca gained her wings on the day of January 29th, 2016 during a courageous year of battling cancer in her home surrounded by her family.
Becky was born to Lisa Baker in Prescott, Arizona on November 10th, 1972 but frequently moved as time went on. She was blessed by the birth of her only son Andrew James Listol on June 24th, 1992. Soon after she met the love of her life, Dean Dickson in January 1993 creating a life in Jose, Colorado. She completed her family in the year of 1996 when Nicole Lynn Dickson arrived on the day of November 15th. Later gaining another family member that wasn’t planned; he’s a little Shihtzu we like to call Tiny. She gained her CNA license while working in various places such as Department of corrections, and assisted living centers. She had a passion for helping others which lead her to Hillcrest Care Center and moving to Wray, Colorado with her family. Starting her career in Nursing she enrolled into Morgan Community College while handling life at home. She proceeded to get her bachelors’ in Nursing and Science and continued working at Hillcrest Care Center. As time went on she became very well known by others as she gained two other amazing jobs working for Hospice of the Plains, as well as, becoming a Deputy Nurse at the Yuma County Sheriff’s Department.
Rebecca loved to bake anything new she found on a cooking channel, watch scary television shows with Sissy Hart, she loved to work not only in the office but throughout the yard planting flowers, vegetables and working on her pond. She also loved to collect frogs. She loved being together with her husband and children and creating ever-lasting memories. We will never forget our memories that will last a lifetime.
Rebecca Dickson survived by her Husband of 20+ years, Dean Dickson and her children, Andrew and Nicole.
We as a whole we would like to thank the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, Hospice of the Plains, friends and family for coming together and supporting us in this great loss.
