Phillip M Hatton

PHILLIP M. HATTON, Sr. was born June 25, 1936 to Harold and Leona (Gibson) Hatton in Danville, Indiana. He passed away November 30, 2013 at the Wray Community District Hospital in Wray, Colorado at the age of 77. He grew up helping on the farm.

In 1954, Phil married Pat Tutterow and to this union were born two children, Gary and Debbie. In 1968, this marriage was dissolved. In 1970, Phil moved to Colorado and meet Glenda Bray. Phil and Glenda were married in April 1971 and to this union two children were born, Shawn and Phillip, Jr.

Phil helped at the funeral home with the tent and equipment, worked for Co-op, and numerous jobs through the years, but his main job was a truck driver. Phil retired from Co-op in 1998.

Phil enjoyed going fishing, camping, and riding horses. After his eye sight started to fail, he enjoyed going to coffee and watching westerns on television.

Phil is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Leona Hatton, sister, Rosie Hayden, and brother-in-law, Merle Hayden.

Phil is survived by his wife, Glenda, his children Gary Hatton of Arizona, Debbie Ferguson of Indiana, Shawn (Derrick) Bassnett of Wray, Phillip (Nicki) Hatton of Nebraska, brothers, Tony Hatton of Oklahoma; Henry Hatton, of New Mexico, sister, Charolette Hochstetler of Indiana, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service was held Friday, December 6, 2013,1:00 p.m. at the Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado with Rev. Harold Jackson officiating. A private family inurnment will be held in the Glendale Cemetery in Vernon, Colorado at a later date. Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
