Orpha Faye Brown

Orpha Faye Brown was born to Roy and Irene Hoover Howard on November 16, 1925 at St. Francis, Kansas. She attended school at St. Francis.

Orpha married Eldon C. Eaks in July 1942. The couple had 3 daughters Orpha was employed as a nurse aid for many years. She was Assistant Post Master in Atwood and was a matron at the women's prison in Colorado Springs. She was a member of BPW and The Christian Church in St. Francis. She was a chairperson for the Republican precinct in Rawlins, County Kansas. Orpha was a dedicated mother to her children. She sewed all their clothes and delighted in their accomplishments. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, reading, gardening, and playing cards.

Orpha married Alvis Brown April 13, 1973 and spent her remaining years in Wray where most of her brothers and sisters lived.

Many mornings were spent at her mother's house where her brothers and sisters gathered for coffee.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Clarence, Merlin, and Don Howard, Sister Wanda Jacobson, husbands Eldon Eaks and Alvis Brown, grandson Michael Focke and step son Larry Brown.

She is survived by Brother Ray Howard and Sister Marion Crites of Wray, Colorado and daughters Edie and husband Jay Cunningham of Troup Texas, Ellen and husband Chuck Focke of Ludell Kansas, and Ruth Bullard of Herndon Kansas. Grandchildren Patrick Stubblefield of Colby Kansas, Timothy Stubblefield of Tulsa Oklahoma, Scott Focke and wife Caralie of Colby Kansas, Lee Ann Sattler and Husband Troy of Herndon Kansas, Brad Bullard and wife Cindy of Las Vegas Nevada, Tammie Goodner and Husband Donnie of Ogallala Nebraska, Jason Bullard of Windsor Colorado, Jason Cunningham and wife Allison of Coral Springs Florida, as well as 14 great grandchildren and 11great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held on November 19, 2015 at 1:30p.m. At Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home. Internment was held at Clough Valley Cemetery following the service.

Memorials can be made to Hillcrest Care Center or Child Evangelism Fellowship
