Mary Lou Scheler, 74, went to be with the Lord on October 19th, 2023 in Greeley, CO.
Mary Louise was born on February 23, 1949 in Longmont, Colorado to the parents of Mary (Clark) and Woodrow Oster.
On June 18, 2011, Mary Lou married Roger Scheler and was Blessed 3 grown children and their families, Jason and Lori (Scheler) Carnahan, Angie Scheler, Jason and Lisa Scheler and 12 grandchildren.
Mary Lou enjoyed playing the accordion, although her passion was playing the organ for her church family for many years. She and her husband Roger, spent many Sunday afternoons playing cards with relatives and friends at the nursing home. Mary Lou also loved writing fun birthday poems for the people she loved and cared about. She was an avid lover of putting together puzzles. Her cat Fluffy brought her joy. Anyone that knew Mary Lou, knew her to be kind, selfless, and determined. She was devout to her Catholic faith.
Mary Lou, was predeceased by her husband, Armador Grado, her father, Woodrow Oster, mother, Mary Clark, brothers, Gary Oster and Galen Oster, sister, Nancy DeAngelis.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Scheler of Wray, sister, Anna Stevens, nieces, Donna Luke, Casey Hennigh, nephews, Michael Oster, Andrew Hennigh, a great nephew, Bishop Hennigh and Daniel Dower and his wife Harriet, 3 step children, 9 step grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Wray, Colorado with Father Felicien Ilunga Mbala officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Haigler Cemetery in Haigler, Nebraska. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Plains or the Manna Pantry.
Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
