Margaret Felix was born July 13, 1925 on the plains of eastern Colorado in Cheyenne County near Wild Horse. She grew up through the dust bowl and depression and it made her into a tough make do, don’t throw it away person.
Over her life time she could do what ever was required of her from raising a family to farming and ranching and later to working at the Post Office, Police Department and Library to name a few.
Mom had a passion for reading, sometimes a book a day, and later on listening to stories on tape or CDs. She crocheted many an afghan and was a great crafter.
She loved her family and was always there with a helping hand. She enjoyed going back to Michigan to see her older brothers and all of the nephews and nieces. She would always come home with a cooler of blueberries to share and enjoy all winter.
Mom always tried to stay up on the latest technology.
She had a computer that she routinely had disagreements with, but could usually find what she needed one way or the other. She had emails from family and friends that she corresponded with daily.
In the last few years Mom discovered the joys of Skype and could talk to Virgil and Wilbur, her brothers on daily basis. I’m sure there were many heated debates over politics. She enjoyed those visit’s so much, to be able to see and hear them had to be an amazing thing in her life time.
Mom had been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in July 2012 and she passed away Aug. 11, 2012 at the age of 87 with her family surrounding her.
She leaves to mourn her, a son Gary Curtis of Wray, son Mike and wife Kristy Curtis of Stratton and daughter Sandy and husband Scott Anderson of Kirk, seven grandchildren and their extended families, 5 great granddaughters, 2 great grandsons, two older brothers of Mt. Pleasant Michigan, Wilbur and Virgil Wiltse, and many nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents Vern and Viola Wiltse, two brothers, Clayton and Robert Wiltse, four sisters-in-law, and one grandson Curtis Anderson.
Per Mom’s wishes she was cremated and will be laid to rest at a later date.
