Lee Everett Baldwin

September 14, 1949 — January 1, 2021

I sure do miss him.  These are heartfelt words that are often spoken of Lee Baldwin.  He is missed dearly by his family, his friends, and even people who didn't know him by name. People who only knew him as a generous, kind, and friendly man of God.  It was not unusual to find him buying things at sales and auctions when something caught his eye that he knew someone else was in need of.  Lee was a giving man by nature.  He gave of himself, of his time, of his possessions, and of his love for the Lord.  He enjoyed sharing scriptures with the inmates at the jail whenever he could as he felt he was helping to make a difference in their lives for the better. He would also pray for and share scriptures with anyone else whom he thought needed it. He was a faithful parishioner of the New Life Church where he attended services regularly.  Although he never had children of his own, over the years Lee helped "raise" several children through his generous donations.

Lee Everett Baldwin was born on September 14, 1949 to Homer and Irene (Warren) Baldwin.  He was the second of three children.  Lee attended Wray schools until he graduated in 1967 at which time he enlisted in the United States Army where he later became a paratrooper.  He enjoyed the traveling he did while in the armed forces so afterwards he traveled the country a bit until he decided to make his home in Sydney, Nebraska and work for KN Energy.  He worked with them until he retired.  Not long after retiring from KN Energy, Lee returned to Wray to help take care of his mother until her passing.  During this time he owned and operated Baldwin Tree Service until he again retired and sold the business.

Lee enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and often shared his bounty with friends and neighbors.  Lee also enjoyed searching for arrowheads and other hidden treasures.  He loved to read and learn about history and genealogy. Both his biological and his church family, were an important part of his life.

Lee went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 1, 2021.  Although he is and will be missed by many here on Earth, he was ready to meet his Lord.  Left to mourn him are his sister Cindy Lamb, brother Glenn (Debbie) Baldwin, nephew Matthew Baldwin and nieces Allison Baldwin and Susan Korchi as well as numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews, and friends.

Please join us for a light luncheon as we remember Lee in a  Celebration of Life to be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Roundhouse in Wray.
