Known to many of her friends and family, Kim was ushered into glory on July 1, 2020 at the young age of 53. She fought a very courageous battle with a brain tumor for nineteen months. Kim had a bright fun-loving personality and smile that would light up any room.
On September 25, 1966, our little angel, Kimberly Lynette (Hassman) Richmond made her appearance weighing 5lbs. 7 ½ oz. and was 17” long in Boulder, Colorado to Michael Louis and Peggy Lee (Wickersham) Hassman. Kim grew up with two brothers, Troy and Brent, who were known for playing tricks on her, but she never let them get the best of her and was quick to respond. She loved being outside hunting, fishing, taking road trips and one of her favorite places was the beach. She was a big fan of the Denver Broncos and loved watching them.
Kim was fourteen years old when she was confirmed into the Lutheran faith, which she remained true to her faith throughout her life and depended fully on God, never complaining throughout her illness.
She was a 1985 graduate of Fairview High School and attended Vo-tech School studying business at the top of her class. Kim started her working career consisting of many different jobs, waitressing for Azars Big Boy, while attending high school; following graduation, a secretary at Colorful Images Catalog; secretary at Stratton Co-op; a relief driver and mail carrier for the post office; making pizzas at Bob’s Pizza Plus; worked at Alco and continued to carry mail. Then a shared dream of her and her mom was fulfilled when Hillbilly Heaven was opened along with the assistance of their husbands. Together they had the pleasure of serving the people of Wray for ten years.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Richmond; parents, Mike and Peggy Hassman; children from a previous marriage; Amber (Keith) Mitchell of Georgia; John Walker of Wray; and Michael Walker; brothers; Troy (Kelly) Hassman of Denver, Colorado; and Brent (Dee) Hassman of Ft. Collins, Colorado; uncles, Roger (Coleen) Root and Jerry (Laurie) Root and four nieces and nephews. Her Ohio family by marriage, sister, Cheryl Abshire Rittman; brother, Joshua (Heather) Richmond; mother-in-law, Carole Richmond; and two nieces.
Kim is preceded in death by her grandparents, Wick and Doris Wickersham; Thelma Kelly and father-in-law, Robert Richmond, Sr.
Kim never met a stranger, she was a kind, loving and caring soul that would always put others before herself. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
