Keith F. Chartier

Keith Chartier passed away July 2, 2017 at the age of 96. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Bertha; brothers, Emit, Bill, and Bob; sisters, Madge, Tootie, and Jean; children, Michael, Steven and Keith Jr.; and his wife, Marjorie of 69 years.

Keith is survived by his brothers, Donald and Dallas; sisters, Phyllis Fye and Shirley Trembly; son, Sam; grandchildren, Jeff Chartier, Cori Chartier, Jade Newson, Colton Chartier and wife, Shadee, Jackie Mari and husband, Blu, Sydney Chartier, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Keith was born in Alvin, Colorado. Keith loved the ranch life from a very young age. He helped take care of the family’s cattle and horses. Keith eventually got into the rodeo life with riding saddle broncs, bareback and bulls. He met Margie in California then after they were married; he enlisted in the Air Force. He was a tail-gunner on a B-17 where he flew many missions during World War II. Keith will be missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services were held at the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Wray, Colorado on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Jonathan Dellinger officiating. Interment will be held in the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado.

Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
