Jack Lee Shandy, 58 was born June 17, 1955 to Ben and Mary (Jones) Shandy in Bell Gardens, California. Jack passed away October 31, 2013 in Burlington, Colorado.
Jack worked as a licensed Stationary Engineer, but at heart he was a chef. He loved cooking for family, friends and the girls softball team he helped coach. He competed in several Bar B Que and chili competitions. On holidays, Jack would cook huge meals and hold an open house, feeding his whole neighborhood. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Jack was a single man for many years. After he took on the responsibility of raising his three small grandchildren, he decided that Idalia would be a good place to raise them.
Jack is survived by his son, Jeffery Shandy, three grandchildren, Harold, Catherine and Jeffery, Jr.; four brothers, Glendon Shandy, Doyle Hines, Wilbur Shandy and Harold Shandy, and two sisters, Betty Brown and JoAnn Shandy and numerous nieces and nephews.
