Ida Loretta (Reed) Connally, 106 years young, of Wray, CO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1.
Ida was born to Isaac Reed and Flora (Finn) Reed in Burlington, CO on March 17, 1911. Her father and mother moved to California and then on to Oklahoma when she was a young girl. Ida attended the Nazarene College in Bethany, OK where she met her husband, Joe Connally. They were married June 15, 1931. Ida and Joe farmed and ranched in Oklahoma where daughter, Virginia Lou was born in 1932 and she died in 1935. Thereafter, they moved to the Armel, CO area to farm. Daughter, Kathryn was born January 31, 1938, and son, Walter was April 7, 1940. Ida and Joe lived at the farm until 1969 when they moved to Wray, CO. After Joe’s passing, Ida continued to live in Wray and made short stays in Oklahoma visiting childhood friends, always returning to Wray. Ida was an Armel grade-school teacher and also had a strong social presence in both communities as a devoted member in the Armel and Wray Methodist Churches, the Wray Cliff Dwellers Theater, the Art Guild and many other community organizations and events. Ida loved and enjoyed people and had many years at Hillcrest enjoying the residents, entertainment, and the caretakers.
Ida was most proud of her large family. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Pete) Brophy of Wray, CO; their oldest son, Bill (Julie) Brophy of Imperial, NE, and their children, Jon (Abigail) and daughter, Lucy Grace of Lincoln, NE, Kim Brophy of Omaha, NE, Tessa Brophy and her son, Jayden of Kansas City, KS, and Ben (Lindsay) and their daughters, Adelaid and Camrie, of Imperial, NE; their middle son, Scott (Toni) Brophy of Wray, CO, and their children, Tara (Dallas) Welp and son, Ledger of Wray, CO; and Beau (Brandy) and their son, Mason, of Wray, CO; and their youngest son, Bob (Ginger) Brophy of Wray, CO; and their children, Branson of Las Vegas, NV, and Shausta (Colby) Wilson and their daughter, Lux from Wray, CO. Ida is also survived by her son, Walter (Micki) Connally of Scottsdale, AZ; his oldest son, Steven (Marta) Connally and their children, Kathrin and Austin of Mesa, AZ; his youngest son, Christopher Connally and his daughters Mckenna and Rylie of Phoenix, AZ; and great-granddaughter, Kristen Connally (daughter of Walter’s deceased daughter, Virginia Lou), of Mesa, AZ.
Ida is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her oldest daughter, Virginia Lou, her granddaughter, Virginia Lou, and her great-grandson, Aaron Connally.
A beautiful memorial service for Ida was held on Friday, April 7, 10:00 a.m. at Wray United Methodist Church in Wray, CO with Pastor Ben Wentworth officiating.

Inurnment will be held in the Bethany Cemetery in Bethany, Oklahoma.
