Helen Lucille Gardner was born Oct. 29, 1921 on the family farm home which is northeast of Yuma. She was the third child of James F. and Edith Marie Gardner. She passed away Nov. 30, 2011 in Denver. She attended the country school and walked to and from there with her brothers and sister. Helen graduated from Eckley High School and lived at the family home four miles north of Eckley.
Helen married Arnold Jacobs soon after graduation and they lived to the north. of Eckley. They were blessed with three children, Larry, Lonnie and Wanda. Helen’s husband, Arnold became very sick and unable to work, so she moved the family to Wray where she worked as a dispatcher for the police. Arnold’s illness put him into the Yuma Hospital and soon after he passed away.
Helen met Everett Warren and they were mar ried Dec. 31, 1954. They made their home in Aurora. To this union they were blessed with four children, Jimmy, Gregory, Ted and Toby.
Preceding Helen in death were her parents, James and Edith Gardner, husband, Everett Warren, brothers, Alfred. Kenneth and Eugene, Helen’s children, Jimmy. Toby and Lonnie and her grandchildren, Eileen and Nathen.
Left to mourn her pass ing are her sons, Larry. Ted and GI’egory, her daughter, Wanda and her husband, Wilbur, her sis ter, Esther and husband. Walter Brophy, her broth ers, Clyde and Steve and their wives, Iris and Pat and her brothers, Sharon, Eldon and Ervin.
Helen has many nieces, nephews, 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. We will miss our mother, grandmother, aunt and sister we so dearly love. Funeral services were held Dec. 5 at the Wray Assembly of God Church. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery in Wray. Memorials may be made to National Parkin son Foundation, P.O.
