Helen Mae Poyser

Helen Mae (Criswell) Poyser was born November 12, 1929 in Salida, Colorado to Charles E. and Bernice Margaret (Jay) Criswell. She passed away September 6, 2014 at Hillcrest Care Center in Wray, Colorado.

Helen was raised in Maysville, Colorado and attended school in Salida, Colorado.

Helen married Winne Joe Holman and to this union was two children, Winne Charles and Vickie Arlene.

On February 4, 1959, Helen married James F. Poyser. They lived in Salida for many years and then moved to Vernon, Colorado. Helen loved gardening, crocheting, and reading.

Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bernice; sister, Beulah; and grandson, J.P. True.

She is survived by her husband, James F. Poyser, son, Winne Holman and wife, Mary; daughter, Vickie True and husband, Luis; three grandchildren, Tracie Sullivan, Mike Holman, and Lori True; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Luke, Nate, Eli, Jackson, and Maggie; and brother, Jerry Criswell and wife, Joyce; along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at the Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home, 427 Adams Street, Wray, Colorado 80758 with Rev. Steve Wynkoop officiating. Interment will be held in the Glendale Cemetery in Vernon, Colorado. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Plains, P.O. Box 365, Wray, Colorado 80758. Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
