Heidi Gil Garcia

Heidi Garcia was born February 14, 1979 in Guatemala, She moved to California at the age of 9. She attended Ontario High School in California, In 1998 Heidi married Walter Gil and to this union two children were born, Jasmine and Walter Jr.After marrying Walter they moved to Idaho for a year and then back to California. Heidi came to Wray to visit her brother Rene and sister in law Sandra Garcia and feel in love with Wray and said it would be a nice place to raise their kids so in 2006 Heidi, Walter and their two children made the move to Wray. Heidi would tell you that Wray was her town. This was the place she felt most loved and protected by the community.Heidi was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister who always put her family first. Heidi’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of the time one lives. Her beautiful smile and gentle spirit brought so much joy to all who knew her. Even when she was frail, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life,Heidi was a faithful servant of God. Even through her fight for life she never lost hope. She continued to praise him up until her final breath.Heidi passed away on October 22, 2011 and leaves behind her husband Walter Gil and two children Jasmine and Walter Jr. Her parents Rene and Dalila Garcia, Her in laws Gudelia Rodriguez and Manuel Gil, She is also survived by her two grandmothers Zoila Mejicanos and Elvia Garcia. Her brother Rene and wife Sandra and brother Javier Garcia. Brother in law Victor and wife, Giselal. Nephews Rene and Esguar Garcia and Lukas Gil, and niece Shaylla Gil and many more aunts, uncle, cousins and friends,Heidi touched many many lives and will be greatly missed, A memorial in honor of Heidi has been established for the education for her children,

A Receiving of Family and Friends was held at Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services was held on Thursday, October 27, 2011, 2:00 p.m.  at the Wray United Methodist Church in Wray, Colorado with Pastor Noel Sullivan officiating. Interment was held in the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado. Memorials may be made  to the Heidi Gil Garcia Memorial Fund ~ Education for her Children. Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
