Gregg Alan Seastone

October 16, 1955 — July 7, 2020

Gregg Alan Seastone was born October 16, 1955 to Ernest Charles and Mary Elizabeth “Bette” (Bacon) Seastone in Denver. He spent most of his life in the Denver metro area, later spending time in Gardner and Golden before moving to Wray in 2016. He was delighted to find family roots here, in the legacy of his great grandparents George E. and Nettie E. Brown.

Gregg was a free spirit who experienced many kinds of work over the course of his life, including videography/photography, building RC airplanes, retail, customer service, and computer support. He experimented with many art media, including wax sculpture and 3D computer modeling. He built homemade go-karts with his brother Gary and raced them around the yard. Gregg loved animals, and met all "critters" with affection and treats.

His greatest passion was for all things flight, especially single-pilot airplanes and computer flight-simulators. He took up hang gliding as a teenager, and even after he could no longer pursue that hobby, the love of flying and the freedom he had felt never ended. This doubtlessly influenced his other lifelong pursuit: music.

Gregg learned acoustic guitar starting at age six, followed by keyboard and digital synthesizers. He composed and played music all his life, a path that led to many collaborations and precious friendships.

Gregg survived many obstacles during his time on Earth, including a major hang glider crash at age 19, which contributed to significant health complications throughout his life. These events instilled in him a unique perspective and unwavering spiritual strength. He had made it his life's goal to spread as much love and positivity as he could.

Following a year-long battle with cancer, he transitioned peacefully at home July 7, 2020. He was 64 years old.

Gregg was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Bette Seastone, and by his brother, Gary Seastone.

He is survived in loving memory by his two daughters, Lisa Seastone of Wray and Lindsey (Eric McDonald) Seastone of Fort Collins, along with their mother Cheryl Shockley of Montrose, and many loving friends.

Services will be privately held.

Inurnment will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Wray.

Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
