Glen H. Weaver
Longtime resident of Burlington, Colorado Glen Weaver left this life on Saturday October 31, 2015 in Aurora, Colorado at the University of Colorado Medical Center.
Glen was born on May 28, 1918 in Pallmar, Nebraska to James and Josephine (Clarence) Weaver. He attended a country school thru the 8th grade until he was needed to help with the family farm.
Glen served with the Army Air Corp in World War II as a pilot, airplane mechanic and a bomber. While in the service he was united in marriage to the love of his life Sylvia Eleanor Smith on September 8, 1942 in Goodland, Kansas. To this union they were blessed with four children, Jeff, Dennis, Glenda, and Sharon. In the early years they lived in Denver, Colorado with Glen working for Bekin’s Van and Storage Company.
In 1959 Glen moved his family to Burlington where he farmed with his brother up until his retirement. Working hard all his life he couldn’t sit still so it led him to take a part time job harnessing the team of horses and giving rides on the horse drawn wagon from Old Town to the Burlington Carousel and back.
After a total retirement Glen and Sylvia spent there winters enjoying the warm weather and great friendships in Arizona. They did that until heath issues forced them to stay in Burlington .Glen was baptized in the First Baptist Church where he remained a member up until his death.
Glen is preceded in death by his wife Sylvia E. Weaver, His parents James and Josephine Weaver, Brothers, Melvin Weaver, Dannie Weaver, Don Weaver, Harry Weaver and sisters Lord Jean Fore, and Myrtle Higgins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeffery Weaver and wife Karen, Dennis Weaver and wife Joyce of Holyoke CO, Glenda Rice and husband Mike, of Salina , Kansas, Sharon Gartrell and husband Mike of Wray, CO along with 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Glen will be missed by his family and many special friends.

Funeral Services for Glen were held on Wednesday November 4, 2015 at 10:00a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Burlington, Colorado with Pastor Russell Young Officiating. In a house drawn hearse he was escorted to his final resting at Fairview Cemetery in Burlington.
Funeral services were entrusted to Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home in Wray Colorado.
