Glen Pratt of Idalia was born December 24, 1930 to Harlan K. Pratt and Nora E. Bolin Pratt at their home in Kirk, Colorado and passed away at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado April 14, 2012 at the age of 81 years. He grew up with his brother, Harold Pratt and though they lived in central southern Missouri and northern Oregon for short periods, he considered Kirk his home. He attended grade school in Kirk and received an 8th grade education and then began helping on the family farm. He later married Shirley Darling and born to this union was Vickie, Stan and Don. During this union Glen enlisted in the Army and severed in the Korean War. He signed up for a second term but was discharged early due to his father’s terminal illness. The union between Glen and Shirley dissolved and he later married Lois Ingalls of Idalia and they were married until Lois passed away in 1983. They had moved to Mountain View, Missouri in 1972 and mostly dealt in real estate, hobby farming, and he especially enjoyed horse trading. He was a very active member in the VFW Post 3009 in Mountain View and he tried to attend and assist in every benefit he could and he was proud to be a member.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, sister-in-law, Wilda Paintin Pratt, and step-son, Larry Baker. Glen is suvived by his children, Vickie, Stan, and Don and his step-children, Sharon, Roger, and Renee. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Methodist Church in Kirk and he will be laid to rest in the Kirk Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home.
