Frances Ann Workman

Frances Ann (Finley) Workman was born May 19, 1936 a mile and a half from Kirk, Colorado. She was the youngest of three daughters born to Jacob Snyder Finley and Tiny Pearl (Campbell) Finley. She Passed away at the Wray Community District Hospital at the age of 82 on July 24, 2018.

Frances attended the Pioneer School that was a few miles from their home in Kirk along with her sisters. In the spring of 1944 when she was eight years old, the family moved to Yuma. In 1948 her family moved to Laird and in 1949 they moved once again to Wray. Frances graduated from Wray High School in 1955 and married Roy Charles “Charlie” Workman on August 22, 1958 in Raton, New Mexico. They were married 48 years until his passing in 2006. They had two children Russell born in 1965, and Misty born in 1976.

Frances worked as a nurse’s aid for 52 years and was honored to be named CNA of the year for the state of Colorado in 1993 by the Colorado Health Care Association. She worked at Renotta for many years and later at Cedardale before retiring in 2006. Caring for elders was part of a family legacy started by her mother, Tiny who also worked at Renotta as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Frances enjoyed spending time with her family and her pets, raising chickens, crocheting, reading and growing flowers in her yard.

Frances is survived by her son Russell and wife Tammy and children Jennifer Workman, Kylie Peterson, and husband Michael, Daughter Misty Monks and husband Gary and children Maryse, Anthony and Robbie Schafer, and great grandchildren Aspen and Brecken Tiegs and Kemper Kinner.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie, her parents, and her sisters Carolee Custer and ElDora Texter.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 30, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Wentworth officiating. Internment was held at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado. Memorials may be made to Twin Forks Vet Clinic. Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
