Elvina June (Heins) Prentice

Elvina June (Heins) Prentice was born June 23, 1928 to Fred and Jenny Heins in Parks, Nebraska. Elvina grew up and attended school in St. Francis, Kansas and Haigler, Nebraska. She passed away at the Wray Community Hospital in Wray, Colorado on March 13, 2021 at the age of 92.

She met Gerald (Jerry) Prentice at a dance at Olive Lake and they were married on February 6, 1945. Unto this union, three sons were born, Chris of Florence, South Carolina; Gail and Bruce of Wray, Colorado and daughter, Linda who was stillborn.

Elvina was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents, Fred and Jenny Heins; siblings, Wanda, Everett, Larry, and Margaret.

She is survived by her three sons, two brothers, Fred and Delbert; two sisters, Teresa and Janice; ten grandkids, twenty-two great-grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation/Viewing was held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. - 12 (noon) at the Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado.

A Graveside service and Interment will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado.
