Ella (Hansbrough) Wilcoxen

Ella (Hansbrough) Wilcoxen was born January 18, 1924 to Dennis and Eva (Wilks) Hansrough in California. Ella had two brothers, Earl and Wayne and two sisters Nancy and Dorothy. She passed away on February 11, 2022 at 98 years old.

She met her future husband Wayne “shorty” Wilcoxen at the skating rink in Culver City, CA.  They later lived in the phone office in Idalia until Shorty started building their home.  Ella worked at the Idalia School as Secretary for 23 years.  She loved being around the kids.

Ella gave birth to three girls:  Lonna (who has passed on), Ronda and Linda. She has 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grand children.

All who knew her will miss her cooking, and her quick wit and humor.

The service will be held at St John’s United Church of Christ, 28591 County Rd 7, Idalia, Colorado at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 with Pastor Bob Higgins officiating. Interment will be held in the Lucas Memorial Cemetery in Idalia, Colorado. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
