Dorothy Mae Brunswig the oldest daughter of Lebearn “Boud” and Ella Shively Duckworth, was born July 27, 1927 in Vernon, Colorado and passed away January 10, 2012 in Holyoke, colorado at the age of 84.

She was educated in the Yuma county schools and graduated from Wray Community High School in 1945 where she remained active in Wray’s Alumni. Dorothy enjoyed working many years in Wray Community where she acquired many good acauintances and life long friendships. She belonged to the Clough Valley church, south east of Wray until moving to Wray in 1999. She joined the Wray Babtist Church and was a very active member. She had a great love for people and also donated her time to community affairs. Dorothy spent the last few years at Regent Park in Holyoke, Colorado.

Dorothy married Ted Brunswig, January 13, 1946 at the Zion Evangelical Church northwest of St. Francis, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children. Ted and Dorothy moved to the Armel Community in 1947. They resided on the Brunswig Farm for 53 years.

Dorothy enjoyed her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and left them with many fond memories. She was a good hostess, providing all with wonderful mealts to remember. Dorothy spent her leisure time enjoying crafts, reading and helping others.

Dorothy is proceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, sister, and on great-granddaughter.

She is survived by her children, Larry and wife, Jill of Wray, Colorado, Barbara and husband, Dale Tecklenburg of Black Hawk, SD and Terry and husband, Larry Zweygardt of St. Francis, Kansas. Seven grandchildren and twelve reat-grandchildren; sister, Ardith Connors of Ft. Collins, Colorado, sister-in-law, Dorothy and husband, Arlen Petty of Alberquerque, New Mexico, Sister-in-law, Lucille Brunswig of Tucson, Arizona, and a host of relatives and friends.

A graveside service with interment was held in the Hope Valley Cemetery in Cheyenne Co., Kansas, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. MST with Jack Soehner officiating. A memorial service took place in the Wray Southern Baptist Church in Wray, Colorado at 2:00 p.m. following the interment. Memorials may be made to the Wray Southern Baptist church, 1005 Lincoln Street, c/o 1943 Arlyn Court N, in Wray, Colorado 80758. Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
