Donald E. Oncale, Sr., who was born June 27, 1928 in Napoleaneville, Louisiana to Adam and Ivy (Lacompte) Oncale.
He married Vera Southwell of Wray, and to this union was born four children, Jacqualine Oncale, Maggie (Kayler) Oncale, Vivian (Galasso) Oncale and Donald E. Oncale, Jr. In addition, seven grandchildren, Angela and Jaqualine Wigingtonp; Brad and Braeden Oleson, Clifford Carl, John and Jehrod Owen and three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Don has lived in Wray for the past five years with his daughter, Maggie, who has been caring for him at home from a lengthy illness, while he enjoyed the great small town living.
Donald was a World War II Veteran, who served on the Naval Ship USS Turner as a Fireman, who was awarded five medals. He had a love for music, played the drums, had a beautiful voice and was a professional tap dancer. He loved life, and never met a stranger.
Donald passed away in his home with family on October 14, 2015. He is survived by his immediate family and will be deeply missed by many.
There will be a memorial at a later date in Denver with family.
Cremation was requested.
