Daryl Dan Ehrlich was born January 9, 1951 in Denver, Colorado. He left this life to be with Jesus on May 12, 2023.
Daryl was the only child of Rachel Eugene Ware and Frederick Ehrlich, Jr. When Fred remarried, Daryl became a big brother of Jack and Roger Bradley and Janet and Georgianne Ehrlich.
Daryl joined the Navy at 17 with the consent of his father. He completed Basic Training, but before being call to active duty he was honorably discharged, due to medical and family hardship.
Daryl met his sweetheart, Linda Louise Bryant in 1965 at the age of 14 ½, on a camping trip with Linda’s cousins. They rekindled their summer friendship in 1967 and were married January 11, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Denver.
Daughters-Kathryn Lisa (1969), Jody Leanne (1970), and Heidi Kristine (1972) were born in Denver.
Daryl was working as a Union carpenter in August 9 1973, when Linda dared him to take a farmhand job in Vernon, Colorado. Linda told him, if the “modern farmhouse” had a porch swing, he had to take the job. Life changed dramatically when they came to work for Henry Wiltfang in Vernon in August of 1973.
Jamie Michelle (1975) and Jeremy Ryan (1978) were both born at the Wray Community District Hospital.
Besides farming, Daryl worked at 2 feedlots, Yuma County Jail, and Yuma Ethanol. But the work he loved was carpentry. He owned Daryl’s Auto Glass and Carpentry for many years.
Daryl loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, riding motorcycles, boating, camping, fishing, growing a garden and tending his roses.
A mild stroke in 2014 slowed him down but didn’t keep him down. In 2017 a serious stroke and a diagnosis of Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer-took the wind out of his sails. But he didn’t give up -he continued camping, gardening and loving his family.
After a long battle with cancer, he died peacefully at home with his wife, children and on grandson at his bedside.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rachel and Fred Ehrlich; his mother and father-in-law, Corine and Ronald Bryant; a nephew, Garrett Bryant and his brother, Jack Bradley.
He is survived by the Love of his Life, Linda; his furry pups, Lilly(7) and Charlie(4); daughters, Kathryn Paul, Jody St. Laurent, Heidi & husband, Brent Wilson, Jamie & husband, Brandon Shulman; and son, Jeremy & wife, Jenn Ehrlich; grandchildren, Jerrett, Nathan, Peyton, Audra, Claira, Daryelle, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Patrick, Bonnie, Jacob, Gavin, Tanner, Holly and Isaac; 14 great-granddaughters, and 2 great-grandsons; sisters-in-law, Marcia & husband, Ray Worley; Karen & husband, Kevin Custer; Annette & husband, John Minella; brothers-in-law, Roger & wife, Nancy Bryant; and Steven & wife Jann Bryant; his brother, Roger Bradley and sisters, Janet and Georgianne; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
We find comfort in knowing that Daryl is with our Lord in Heaven, whole and healthy and no longer in pain. He will live on in our hearts! Forever and always, My Love!
