Darrell Dean Scofield was born to Charles Lawrence Scofield and Frances V. Wickam on March 24, 1944, at Yuma, Colorado. He passed away March 13, 2018, at the age of 73 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was the second oldest of four siblings, Stanley Scofield; Kathleen Schaffer; and Delbert Scofield.
Darrell grew up on the Scofield Farm west of Joes graduating from Liberty High School in May 1962. During his growing up years Darrell helped on the farm; was an active member of boy scouts and 4-h; played basketball; and helped as a stage assistant for high school plays.
Darrell joined the Army in May 1962 and was trained as a Engineer Equipment Mechanic. He was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. In April 1968, he was honorably discharged.
When the general contractor of the new Liberty School asked for current and past students to help with the construction, Darrell joined in. He was proud to be part of the group.
Darrell had his own Barber Shop for 30 plus years in Denver, CO. He enjoyed his customers and the American dream of having his own business.
Upon retirement Darrell purchased a home in Dacono, CO. He loved music; a game of chest; time at the library; and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. He helped in the reconstruction of the Fort Lancaster in Ft Lupton, CO.
In August 2012, with health declining Darrell moved to Regent Park Nursing Home in Holyoke, e found many friends there and enjoyed his time in fellowship with them. He spent time fishing and attending movies at Peerless Theatre.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Frances Scofield; and his brother, Stanley Scofield.
Left to mourn are siblings: Delbert and Cheryl Scofield; and Kathleen Schaffer. Nieces;nephew; cousins; and many friends.
On April 20, 2018, the public is invited to a Memorial Service in honor of Darrell. Luncheon will be at noon at Grassroots Community Center in Joes. A Graveside Service will be officiated by Pastor Timothy Davis at New Hope Church Cemetery (aka Joes Mennonite) 1.5 miles east of Joes at 2 pm.
