Clarence l. “Wick” Wickersham of Boulder was called to his “Heavenly Home” on December 5, 2012. He was the son of Jess Milton Wickersham and Millie Powers Wickersham.He was born in Hereford, South Dakota on October 10, 1923.
He was married to Doris N.Root in Bauder, Colorado on December 8th, 1942. He lived in Boulder after coming here from Rapid City, South Dakota.He inlisted in the United States Coast Guard on December 10, 1942, 2 days after he married Doris. He Served until February 14,1946, 4 days before his 2nd daughter Peggy was born.He received an honorable discharge.
He was a mechanic at Arnold Bros. Ford Company for 31years.He later went to Colorado University Transportation Center and was the shop foreman for 12 years . He retired from there in 1987.
He was an active Charter Member of Mt. Zion Lutheran church for many years. He joined Calvary Lutheran Church after moving to Wray in 2009.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, traveling and the mountains in Colorado and elsewhere .He especially enjoyed helping others as much as he could.
He truly appreciated the care he received while in the hospital in Wray.He mentioned more than once how much he loved the nurses who helped him and took <;are of him there. He actually enjoyed his doctor’s appointments because of the entire staff there. He loved the small town atmosphere here and made many friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy lee Hasman and her husband Mike; 2 sisters, Maxine larson of Yakima, Washington and Betty Grenz of Milwaukie,Oregon; 6 Grandchildren and many Great Grand Children and even Great-great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Doris N. Wickersham of 66 years; One daughter, Sharon Ann Gladden; 3 sisters, Irene Wickersham,Jean Stroup and Louise Lowe; One Brother, Lawrence Wickersham.
