Beatriz Aurora Murphy

July 30, 1974 - January 11, 2025

Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.' John 11:25-26

Beatriz Aurora Murphy entered into the presence of the Lord on January 11, 2025 at the age of 50 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through it all. She maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, and love of family to the very end.

Beatriz was born July 30, 1974 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Jose and Amparo Ruiz. She attended Yuma and Arickaree Schools. It was during high school at the age of  sixteen that she met the love of her life, Tuffy, while working at Pizza Hut (C4). It was love at first sight and her greatest joy was that of being a wife and homemaker. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Beatriz. She loved caring for family and friends by cooking and baking for them and spent countless hours in the kitchen perfecting her recipes. She also enjoyed quilting and crafting and took great delight in making just the right gifts for everyone. She was an avid animal lover, but of all the dogs and cats that came through her home she had a special love for her little nuggets. She was a woman of great faith and a true prayer warrior. Her favorite devotion was the Rosary and she spent endless hours praying it for her loved ones. She will forever stand in our hearts as a reminder of strength, perseverance, love, and faith.

Now that Beatriz has gone home where her soul belongs, in our sorrow we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of her physical life on earth, it’s the beginning of a beautiful  and eternal journey for her. Beatriz is now at home with her older sister, Rosita; her maternal grandparents, Lupe and Guadalupe Munoz; her paternal grandfather, Maclovio Ruiz; and many aunts and uncles.

Beatriz is survived by her husband, Tuffy Murphy; her parents, Jose and Amparo Ruiz; her sister, Myrna Remington; her brother, Ramon Ruiz; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers/sisters in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Though we will mourn her loss daily, we know that we will be reunited in time.

Our dearly beloved Boriz rest in peace, knowing that you are deeply loved by so many. We will never forget the joy, laughter, and beauty that you brought to this world. You are now at peace in the arms of our Savior and our Blessed Mother, La Virgen de Guadalupe. Descansa en paz mija.
