Arvie Melvin Cox was born March 2, 1935 to Alvin and Beulah (Raue) Cox in Beecher Island, Colorado. He passed away September 15, 2017 at Hillcrest Care Center in Wray, Colorado.

He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1959. After serving in the Navy, he lived in Greeley and worked as a mechanic. Later, he came back home and worked with his father and uncle at the family farm. He married Thelma Gleason February 12, 1999 in Wray, Colorado. Arvie and his brother took over the family farm until his retirement in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Beulah Cox; and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife Thelma; brother, Arrie and Vicki Cox of Limon; his sons, Don DeLand of Wray, Steve and wife, Paula DeLand of Wray; and Larry DeLand of Buena Vista, Colorado; Also left to mourn are 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren; brother and sister in-laws, Richard and Gene O’Neal and Helen Blood of Idaho.

A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 6 th & Hickory in Yuma, Colorado with Pastor Rex Bell officiating. Interment will be held in the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado following services.

Memorial contributions may be made in Arvie's name to Hillcrest Care Center, 360 Canyon Ridge Drive, Wray, Colorado 80758.
