Anita Brownlee

October 19, 1950 — August 13, 2024

Sunsites

Anita Brownlee passed away in her sleep peacefully with her family by her side on August 13, 2024, in Sunsites AZ.  Anita was born October 19, 1950, in Stockton CA, to the late Edgar and Tommie Woodruff.

Anita’s life was a testament to the power of faith and family. Raised in California and Arizona she moved frequently as her father pursued his calling to serve the church. Later in life she settled into where she would finally call home in Southern Arizona. She married the true love of her life Dorne Brownlee.  Together they enjoyed a fulfilling life with their blended family of 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Anita’s family was the center of her universe, and she took every opportunity to show them how much she cherished them.  Her smile was a source of comfort and happiness, and her infectious laughter had the power to bring people together to create lasting memories.

Anita embodied a fun-loving spirt, pursuing numerous passions throughout her life.  Her long-term career as a property manager she dedicated herself to creating safe comfortable homes for many. However, her most cherished endeavor was building and sharing life on the Ostrich Ranch with Dorne. Together they worked hard to build a place where family gathered and created fond memories “on the ranch”.

Anita was preceded in death by her Father Edgar Woodruff, Mother Tommie Woodruff, Brother Alby Woodruff, Brother Bud Woodruff and Sister-in-law Sandra Woodruff.  Anita is survived by her Husband Dorne Brownlee, Brother John Woodruff (Vicky) Daughters Tammy Kelton, Erin Wilson (Jason) Crystal Pence (Guy) Sons Donald Lawson (Debbie), Jeff Brownlee (Shana) Dion Brownlee (Berenice), Aaron Brownlee (Jodi) and Joseph Kelton (Jennifer), 17 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren and so many more that called her mom.
