Allison Mae Turvey born to Stuart and Joni (Owens) Turvey on June 1, 2001 in Greeley, Colorado. Allison entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on March 13, 2017 at the age of 15 years, 9 months, and twelve days. Allison was raised in Eckley, Colorado and educated in the Yuma School District.
In her short life time, she was very active in the work of the Lord, education, equestrian and sports. Allison was very active in the Community Church in Eckley, Colorado and had taught Sunday school for the past four years.
Allison held several offices in 4-H including (in her club), Historian, Secretary, Treasurer, and President. In county 4-H Council, she held the office of Secretary, and County Alternative Senator, and attended several years of Colorado Leadership Conference. In her seven year membership in 4-H, she had projects in horse, sewing, chickens, crocheting, decorate your duds, sewing for others, creative sewing, and visual arts. Among distinguished honors in 4-H, were Homemaker of the Year, Outstanding Achievement Award twice, (2014 & 2016), Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion at the Colorado State Fair for clothing in 2015 and 2016, plus several projects that were awarded with ribbons and along the way awarded three sewing machines.
FFA was also a special club to her in which she was in her second year. Allison was especially proud at her being elected to the office of Reporter her sophomore year. She attended the 89 th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indiana, which confirmed her beliefs she was in a club where she belonged.
Education was her passion in which she excelled, having just received her papers for the National Honor Society. She was focusing on a career in Physical Therapy and Animal Therapy.
Rodeo Bible Camp had special calling for her. Allison attended the camp for four years learning of the Lord and the Responsibilities of Animals and Fellowship. Among one of her special accomplishments at The Platte River Rodeo Bible Camp was she being awarded the Senior Barrel Race Champion in June of 2016.
Another event she looked forward to was the Colorado Make It with Wool Contest in November, which she always placed highly including Grand Champion in her class her first year.
Allison also was very competitive in sports when her knee was being cooperative. Her passion was basketball, proving your heart can overcome anything. She was always willing and ready to help someone if she had the ability to contribute to the conclusion of the problem and always ready to pass on knowledge.
Through Allison’s travels throughout Colorado and several out of state trips involving 4-H and FFA Representation she met hundreds of people and made several friendships with strong bonds. Allison had a special gift of making friends and touching people’s lives.
Allison is survived by her parents, Stuart Emory and Joni Jean (Owens) Turvey, brother, John Emory Turvey of Eckley, Colorado; grandmother’s, Betty Fern (Adamson) Owens of Eckley, Colorado; and Judith Ann (Cullor) Turvey of Liberty, Kentucky; aunt, Beth Renee (Owens) and husband, Roy Lee White of Douglas, Wyoming; uncles; Dave Eugene Owens of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Johnny Jay & wife, Dena Jo (Brophy) Owens; Christopher Jason & wife, Connie Lynn (Murrey) Turvey both of Eckley, Colorado and Craig Louis & wife, Jadin Ayn (Sharpe) Turvey of Greeley, Colorado and cousins, Shelby Dawn White of Phoenix, Arizona, Aftyn Iola White of Whorton, Texas; Brent Michael White of Eckley, Colorado; Samantha Nicole and Cole Joseph Turvey of Arvada, Colorado; Emory Roland and Emerald Ayn Turvey of Greeley, Colorado; special cousin, John Ellsworth Hackett of Eckley, Colorado; and special friend, Gage Tuell of Holyoke, Colorado and numerous great aunts, great uncles, and second cousins and many, many more family and friends who will remember her smile.
Allison is proceeded in death by her grandpa’s, Johnny Owens, Jr. and John Emory Turvey, both of Eckley, Colorado; great-grandma’s, Alice Mary (Spelts) Turvey of Eckley, Colorado; Rachael Fay (Williams-Cullor) Anderson of Greeley, Colorado and Great-grandpa, Hugo Anderson, Jr. of Greeley, Colorado.
A Receiving of Friends and Family were held Monday, March 20, 2017, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home, 427 Adams Street, Wray, Colorado. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 21, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at the Eckley Community Center in Eckley, Colorado with Jon Shaw and T.C. Combs officiating.

Street, Wray, Colorado 80758. Interment was in the Eckley Cemetery in Eckley, Colorado.
