Allen Wayne Yost

Allen Wayne Yost was born December 5, 1963 to Wayne Burdett and June Ruby (Newbanks) Yost at the Wray Community District Hospital in Wray, Colorado. He passed away April 21, 2022 in Wray, Colorado.

Allen attended the Wray Schools graduating with the Class of 1982. Shorty after graduation, Allen went to work for the City of Wray and worked there until his retirement in December of 2016. He was a volunteer for the Wray Volunteer Fire Department and retired after twenty years of service.

Allen being an only child, cherished his friends and had many. He was good to his parents and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Lawrence and Jessie Yost, Spencer and Izero Newbanks, step-grandmother, Opal Newbanks; uncles, Dean and wife, Mary and Steve Yost, John, Lloyd, Roy and Louis Newbanks, and aunt Nell and husband, Cliff Wilson.

Family members left to mourn his passing are aunts, Madeline and Joe Conrad; Merna and husband, Larry Skipworth; Joyce Yost, Connie Newbanks, Cheryl Newbanks, close friends, James and Annette Bracelin, Darrel and Pam Ritchey, Doug & Kim Herrick, and Garth Schafer, many cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Receiving of Family & Friends will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. at the Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Wray, Colorado.

Interment will be held in the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado. Memorials may be made to the Wray Volunteer Fire Department or the First Christian Church.

Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
