Alberta H (Waters) Weese

ALBERTA H. WEESE was born to Charles and Burd (Rose) Water February 11, 1922 in Haigler, Nebraska. She passed away July 23, 2012 at the Pecan Tree Manor in Gainesville, Texas. She was raised on a farm near Laird, Colorado and attended school there. She met Thomas Weese while working at a defense plant in Denver during World War II. Thomas and Alberta were married April 29, 1944 and to this union two children were born, Roger and Karen. Tom volunteered for the Navy and after spending a month together in California, he shipped out from San Diego. Alberta and Tom lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico after his discharge from the Navy, in which they were blessed with their son, Roger. Later, they returned to Wray, where they were blessed with their daughter, Karen. Alberta worked at Duckwall’s and T G & Y stores and later at the Wray Community District Hospital. After spending most of her life in and around the Wray area, she moved to Gainesville, Texas to be near Karen and her husband in 2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burd and Charlie Waters, brother & sister-in-law, Raymond and Caroline Waters, and son, Roger Weese. She is survived by her daughter, Karen & husband, Ed Sutton, grandsons, Brad, Bryan and Ryan Weese; Derek and Sean Peters; and a host of cousins and friends.

A Graveside Inurnment Service will be held, Tuesday, August 14, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado.  Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado is in charge of arrangements.
